We received some very cute photos of Ellie a couple days ago. We sent a birthday cake to her for her birthday on January 14. She turned 2! We went through a company called Lady Bugs n Love. We also sent her a birthday package, which hopefully she received! These photos are of her and her nanny at the orphanage in ZhouKou, Henan, China. We are so anxious to finally meet her. It most likely won't be until September, but we are moving forward and things are progressing.
Hah! That cake definitely is a Chinese cake. I love the … sushi-esque? things on top. When fellow teachers had their birthdays, the school would buy them very similar cakes. One had a candy cigarette on it! It was always the most exciting part… to see what would show up on the cake. Man, what memories. :)
