Chinese Adoptions are around $30,000. Our agency, CCAI, is a one of the cheaper agencies. Their fees are $6,650. USCIS & fingerprinting is $890, our Visas are $280. Home-study's run about $2,500, the expense of preparing our dossier for China is approximately $1,000. Chinese Government Fees are $1,635. Travel and accommodations for 2 adults and the adoptive child is approximately $10,000. China requires a $5,500 donation to the orphanage the child is from to help improve it for the children left behind. Then, for the adoption costs and notarization, child's passport, required doctors visit, and child's visa to enter the US, the cost is $1,260. If you add food for all 3 of us, you add another $800 for 14-16 days. So, we're looking at $30,515. This doesn't account for any medical expenses or state validation once we are home, which in Utah is approximately $500.
We adopted our first little miracle, Lan Lan, 2 years ago in July. So many miracles!!!! We had saved for her and waited for 5 years before switching from the traditional program to the Waiting Child Program (a child with a known special need) but it drained our savings. This one, we are working hard to try to earn and raise the money. But, our family is learning so much through the process.
We need help bring Ellie home. We still need to raise $20,000. We have until the middle of October to do it. We know if you are reading this, you might be the answer to our prayers in helping us. Even $10 and $20 donations help. You can send a check directly to our agency in our behalf. Make sure you put Anderegg Family in the memo line. Or you can donate via paypal on the button to the right. All proceeds will be paid to CCAI.
We appreciate your time in looking at our adoption page. We know this is in the Lord's hands and he works mighty miracles. We also know, without a doubt, that Ellie Mei is meant to be part of our family. We cannot wait to hold her in our arms!
